CIRQUE GOES DOWN

I've really enjoyed not being stressed by new scrapbook kits arriving every month. I feel that I work better when I don't feel the pressure to use up a kit before the next one comes. There's a great pleasure in seeing my stash shrink, and in knowing I'm actually using what I payed for. This year I've only ordered one kit so far. I've really loved working with Cirque, and it's quickly disappearing. Today I have three pages to share.

The first one is a lift I made of one of April Foster's CT gallery layouts.

The second is a classic grid layout. For a title I used on of the PL digi brushes from the Lisse street kit. I took a circle punch to one of the stickers from the On The Grid class and added to the middle of the photo grid.

I really liked the big black alphas, but I'm running out of vowels! Trying to be creative in using up the last of them anyway. Here's a photo and a story of our son practicing the letter G at school.

The yellow patterned paper is from the Sandlot kit, all the way back from last summer. Looking at this now I feel that it lacks a few embellishments. I'll probably add a few gold items to this later.

I hope you enjoyed the post. Happy Easter everyone!

SPRING CAPSULE

Finally! My spring capsule wardrobe is finished. My shopping plans fell through, because it's just too early in the season in Sweden to have a wide pick of skirts. It will have to wait until summer. I ended up with 36 pieces. But the way spring works here is not a smooth sail. All of a sudden we'll have snow and winter for a few days, and this can happen all the way into May. It did last year! Whenever that happens I will bring out my winter coat and boots, but I will see that as winter cheating and not me...

So here is what I came up with:

READING PROGRESS

Did you join the 2015 Reading Challenge? I thought it was a great way to push myself to read a bit more, the way I used to before I discovered scrapbooking. And had kids. Ofcourse.

Since the new year started I have read seven books, and my list now looks like this:

I have read:
  • Headhunters by Jo Nesbo
  • Styckerskan från Lilla Burma by Håkan Nesser
  • Dregen: självbiografin by Dregen and Tore S Börjesson
  • Himmelstrand by John Ajvide Lindqvist
  • The Wicked Girls by Alex Marwood
  • Revival by Stephen King
How did I like them?

All the books I read for this challenge will be posted to my "2015 Reading Challenge" Pinterest board with a very short review in the comments.

Plans for future reading:

On my nightstand I have a pile of books waiting. They are Mr Mercedes by Stephen King, The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood and Zombieöverlevnad - din guide till Apokalypsen (Zombie Survival - your guide to the Apocalypse) by Herman Geijer and Jimmy Wallin. I'm looking forwards to all of them! I traded my Himmelstrand copy for the Zombie Survival book. A good trade I think! Inside my nightstand the two parts of A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin have been waiting for quite some time. I love those books, but they're such a heavy read. They keep getting bumped down on my to-read list. I'm still looking for a book that will scare me. That's a tough one! I'm hoping to find a copy of House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. Hopefully that one will do the trick.

How is your reading coming along this year?

A SICK 3 WEEKS

We've had all kinds of sick in our house for the past three weeks. This has been our life since mid-februari:
  • Son with burst ear drum, antibiotics treatment 1
  • Daughter with stomach flu
  • Son with stomach flu
  • Daughter with burst ear drum, antibiotics treatment 2
  • Me with stomach flu
  • Husband with fever and head ache
  • Daughter with a second burst ear drum, antibiotics treatment 3
It's enough now, germs! And enough with the shouting because the kids can't hear. Enough emptying buckets of eeew. Enough costly sick days.

I'm happy to see spring is on it's way. The snow is almost all gone, and a few spring flowers are peeking through the dirt. Today was sunny and warm, 10 C, but quite windy. Me and my daughter did some shopping to send happy mail to five friends in different five countries. I won't say where or to whom because I want it to be a surprise.

I have a lot going on right now. I'm on my seventh book this year. I will have an update on my 2015 Reading Challenge tomorrow right here on the blog. I'll post reviews and a few book tips and a bit about my future reading plans.

My PL is coming along nicely. I have one more page to end February. Stop by on Tuesday for a PL update!

Also it's time for a Capsule Wardrobe exchange. Out goes winter, in comes spring! I'm bringing in the box from storage to switch a few items, plus going shopping for a few new pieces tomorrow. If I find everything I need I will have my Spring Capsule Wardrobe ready for posting by next Sunday.

I've been going through the pins on my Capsule Wardrobe Spring board on Pinterest, and I have decided to look for these pieces:
